SiFive CEO Says RISC-V Servers are ‘Five Years Away’

RISC-V, the open source processor instruction set architecture (ISA) that’s been quickly gaining support from companies making chips for embedded devices, is going to power servers as soon as five years from now. That’s according to Naveed Sherwani, CEO of SiFive, the company founded by three of RISC-V’s original developers that’s been a primary mover behind the ISA.
