Should FOSS Projects define how much money they need so people know how much to donate?

Basically the title.

Like I use OBS regularly and I would like to donate, but OBS probably already has companies that fund it and they don't need my 3$ a month. It would really nice if every FOSS Project had a fixed amount of money they need each earn to stay sustainable and how much they got up until today, so people know how much they should donate. (Then I wouldn't donate to OBS, but rather Thunderbird or Anki or anything other app that needs funding)

P.S: Here's the Open collective for OBS, you can see they get about 154,000$ every year but you have no idea if they need 50,000$ or 500,000$ to stay sustainable.
