The first time I met this guy, he wasn't really like a big tech guru or anything. He wishes to become a lawyer, but when he discovered that I was a huge fan of Linux he really wanted to give it a try. I showed him a few distributions to choose from, which obviously were beginner-friendly. He liked Ubuntu the most, and he hated Windows so much that he wanted to erase the whole disk and only have Linux on his drive.
We ran into a couple of issues here and there, mostly related to missing libraries. Surprisingly he actually had a lot of fun trying to troubleshoot and fix, and he hasn't stopped thanking me for introducing him to GNU/Linux. Hope we see more people like this person in the future, so that we can grow the Linux community and get more people off the atrocious platform of Windows.
